How the Call Series Works
“These are great tips on equipment needs of organic farmers - it will help me advise.”
The Call Series is an informal, one-hour session held over lunch, with one call each month from May to December, 8 calls in the ‘25 series. Organic ag advisors and farmers tune in to take deep dives into emerging topics in organic agriculture, guided by expert guests and an experienced, engaging host. Like a high yielding corn crop, the success of each call is built with quality and consideration at each step; choosing timely topics, inviting guests with hands-on expertise who are well-prepared by the host, and promoting the series to attract your target audience. As a result, attendees are engaged throughout the hour and stay to ask their own questions.
The Call Series has been running continuously since 2022.
Your Host
Sam Oschwald Tilton
(Your Agri-Oprah!)
Since 2024, the Call Series has been planned and hosted by OATS Training Specialist Sam Oschwald Tilton. Sam has been involved in organic agriculture for the past 15 years, as a farmer, university researcher, machinery sales rep, technical college instructor, extension specialist, field day planner, and independent organic agronomist. He draws on his wide experience and deep network to carefully select topics for each call, inviting expert guests, and creating a Call Series that is informal, educational, and engaging. Sam often invites two guests on each call to include a variety of experiences and so the guests can engage with each other and Sam - creating a more lively discussion.
